Welcome Dragon Clan. I'm beginning a new phase of my music career. The most exciting yet for me. I am ready to begin putting myself and my art out there without holding back any more. No more self doubt. My music is good. I like it and people like me will find it and like it too. This is our music.
I am sending out emails and searching for live gigging opportunities this weekend. I am planning a Facebook live stream for Saturday, August 17th in the evening (tonight, as I write this). The live stream concept is something I want to be a monthly reoccurring event. I will start with my personal page on Facebook (and the RobEdenbomusic facebook page if it will allow me. The personal page is where I have the most reach. Its not a fan page, just people I know and have been friends with, family and coworkers. But it seems a logical starting place. I've got music business pages on Facebook and Instagram now and I want to start getting more aggressive and consistent with posting content to self promote.
Last December and January,2023, I recorded an album. It was produced by Bret Alexander of the Badlees fame. I am currently working on getting it distributed through CD baby. If I can figure out how, I will release the first 3 songs as singles…one song at a time. Then drop the whole album by this December (2024). It has 11 songs. The working title is “Blind Dragon Sings.”
I have had a running joke for years now, due to my poor eyesight, my blues name would be “Blind-Boy Rob.” The original title was going to be “Blind Dragon Blues.” The problem with these ideas is that I don't do blues. I'm a country-folk artist. The dragon concept goes back to my childhood obsession with D&D. In becoming a songwriter, I rediscovered my love of those myths and stories and decided it needed to be a core piece of my brand. “Blind Dragon Sings,” so mote it be.
Not sure how often I will be able to update my blog so I will begin cautiously with a once a month goal. That seems way too little but I know how quickly things can get away from me. That thing called life keeps happening. Ya know?
Long live the Dragon Clan!
Love and Peace
